HolidayHero vs Tourmie

Tourmie is a guest experience app for hotels and vacation rentals, built around a digital guest guide, online check-in and a marketplace of local services. HolidayHero covers the same guest app ground, then keeps going: smart-home control, folio posting, supplier economics and guest intelligence sit in the same platform. Where Tourmie is a guest-facing layer, HolidayHero runs the whole stay.

Tourmie is a guest experience app for hotels and vacation rentals, built around a digital guest guide, online check-in and a booking engine for local services, with its deepest roots in the Greek market. HolidayHero is a whole-stay platform, where that guest app is one pillar among five: arrival, guest app, messaging and AI, upsells and revenue, and operations.

What Tourmie gets right

Tourmie publishes its prices, which is rarer in this category than it should be. Plans run from a free tier to €10 per property or room per month, there is a 30-day trial with no card, and you can size the plan yourself without booking a call. Its PartnerFinder marketplace lets a property connect to vetted local suppliers and earn up to 25% commission on what guests book, and its AADE booking declaration feature does the specific, unglamorous compliance work Greek short-term rental operators actually need. That is a well-defined product with a clear buyer.

Why HolidayHero

The guest app is where we start, not where we stop. Tourmie's product is essentially the guest-facing layer: guide, check-in, requests, chat, service bookings. HolidayHero runs that layer and the operational one behind it in the same system, so the check-in that captures a passport also unlocks the door, triggers the workflow, posts the upsell to the folio and updates the guest's engagement score. If you are buying a guest app to sit alongside four other tools, Tourmie is a reasonable candidate. If you are trying to stop running four other tools, it is not the same purchase.

Smart home, not just smart locks. Tourmie's home automation integrations are documented as Nuki and TTLock, which is keyless entry. HolidayHero treats the property as a connected building: locks, lighting, plugs with energy monitoring, thermostats and HVAC, motion, contact, temperature, humidity, air quality and leak sensors, window coverings, smoke and CO alarms, EV chargers and solar. Every device is gated by reservation stage, so the guest sees the thermostat during the stay and not before it. For an operator whose energy bill and maintenance calls are real line items, that is a different product category, not a longer feature list.

Upsell money that lands in the right place. Tourmie sells services through a booking engine and pays the property a commission. HolidayHero does that and adds the two things that matter once volume grows: charges post to the folio through supported PMS integrations, so the guest settles one bill instead of paying twice, and suppliers get their own portal where guest inquiries land directly. No staff member sits in the middle forwarding messages to the transfer company. Commission splits are calculated automatically and shown three ways: operator revenue, platform fee, supplier payout.

Messaging that includes the messages you already get. Both platforms do WhatsApp, both do scheduled templates, both have an AI that answers guests. The difference is what reaches the inbox. HolidayHero converts Booking.com's private relay emails into ordinary chat threads and syncs guest message threads from the connected PMS, so the conversation your team is already having on the OTA is in the same place as everything else. Tourmie's automated messaging is documented across email, SMS, WhatsApp and push, with its own live chat in the guest guide; syncing OTA or PMS threads into a single inbox is not publicly documented.

Guest intelligence, not just reporting. Analytics that count bookings tell you what happened. HolidayHero detects sentiment across guest interactions and produces a composite engagement score from 0 to 100 across five dimensions, so a guest heading for a two-star review surfaces before checkout rather than after it. In-stay surveys and post-stay review requests close the loop.

It fits more kinds of property, and more kinds of company. Tourmie prices per property or per room, up to 250 units, with custom pricing above that. HolidayHero runs hotels, groups, holiday parks, hostels, aparthotels and rentals, on roughly 17 documented PMS integrations spanning both hotel and rental systems, with multiple distinct brands under one organisation, each with its own branding and its own domain. If you want the guest experience inside your own app or website rather than ours, the headless guest app makes HolidayHero the engine and leaves the front end to you. Tourmie ships an API on its Pro plan; a headless front end and multi-brand separation are not publicly documented.

Compliance, where you actually operate. Tourmie files AADE declarations in Greece. HolidayHero files to SES.Hospedajes in Spain, with Italy and Dubai on the roadmap. Neither of us covers Europe end to end yet, and you should pick on your own geography: if your portfolio is Greek short-term rentals, Tourmie's filing is live today and ours is not.

Capability by capability

There is genuine parity on a good part of the grid. Both platforms do online check-in, digital guidebooks, an area guide, WhatsApp, scheduled messaging, an AI assistant that answers and books, a service catalogue, a staff dashboard, published pricing, a free or trial start, and no commission on your own guests. Both connect to a real list of PMS and channel managers, and both take payments through PCI-compliant providers.

The grid separates on scope. HolidayHero adds folio posting, supplier inquiry routing, OTA and PMS inbox sync, sentiment and engagement scoring, in-stay surveys, an in-app itinerary, local event distribution, multi-brand accounts, and a headless guest app. Tourmie's identity document handling covers number, issue date and upload with per-nationality rules, without documented verification. Its white labelling starts on the €6 Growth plan and custom domain on the €8 Pro plan, so the branded, own-domain guest app is a mid-tier feature rather than a baseline one. And PartnerFinder, the local services marketplace, is stated on Tourmie's own site as available only in Greece, which matters if your properties are not.

Which one fits you

If you run Greek short-term rentals, want a clean digital guest guide and online check-in, need AADE filings, and value a local supplier marketplace already stocked in your market, Tourmie is a good fit and priced accordingly.

For everyone else, the question is how many systems you want to run. If your properties have locks and thermostats and sensors, if your upsells need to reach the folio, if your team is answering Booking.com messages in one tab and guest requests in another, if you run more than one brand, or if you operate outside Greece, HolidayHero is the platform built for that. It runs beside the PMS you already have, it starts at €6.50 per unit per month with pricing you can read before you talk to anyone, and it treats the stay itself as the thing worth running.
